the Victorian English may say, "thus spake" for the 'words' of Lord heard by the devout followers. The devotees hear the voice, may be in dreams, or in trance, as if. This is also known as the "anahata dhvani". This needs some clarification. But, before this sound heard by the devotee, the bhakta, we must know who this Bhagavanta or God (Bhagavan) is. the term Bhagavan is used commonly for all respectable persons who are helpful, compassionate and benevolent.
In the Bhagavad-Gita, the Lord makes this aspect very clear in the Canto IX and X. He says, nobody can ever know Him, and He is not known by the study of scriptures, even by the Jnyanis, tapojanah and the Gods! This verily means that "He is not something to be known"! Further, He is the all-pervading 'Shakti' or 'chaitanya'. He only is seated in the cavity of the heart of all the jivas as "the vital force of the Prana, the conscience and the life-breath. Thus, it is not difficult to realize Him in one's heart and hear His divine words in a state of pashyanti of para as a result of intense meditation. However, we the mortals living in Kaliyug (that is supposed to be the one that started after Lord Krishna left the earth after the epic war of Mahabharata at the end of Dvapara yuga) will be surprised if some secrets are revealed here. The secret is based on mahat tattva: "sarvam khalvidam brahmaa", or "aham brahmaasmi". May be, the soul or atman that is embodied in numerous forms and exhibiting the qualities acquired from the food and water consumed will soon realize its true nature as soon asit gets rid of all that is acquired? Thus, the Jivatman and paramatman are not different, except for the qualities the former has acquired in the course of its embodiment.
Further, there is nothing we call 'God', apart from what we, the jivatman, are! Bhakta (devotee) is merged in Bhagavan in his intense heat of bhakti (devotion). Ultimately, there is neither a bhakta (devotee), nor a bhagavan (God); only devotion is writ large in the jiva. the perceiver and the perceived are one! This is the funda!
Thus, we mat just write of what all we read, hear or acquire from the scriptures as regards God and should see Him in a Transcendental state of Meditation. Forget about epis or history or the tell tales and sit in yoga- tasmaad yogirbhavaarjunaa|
May be this Lord Krishna is Narayana, Aditya, ghrunee and surya (the Sun)! There is nothing wrong in all these statements. He only exists and all else is His shadow. Nothing moves without His Will. trunamapi na chalati te na vinaa| Om Shree Krishnaaya namaH||,
Now who is Krishna Bhagavan that is appearing at the end of every yuga when dharma is neglected? No krishna will ever come to save us; only we have to become a Krishna or Buddha or a Kalki and the first manu and the seeds of the Rishis, Devta (gods), and pitrus for the next yuga!
