Parts of Speech

We  learnt 'Parts of Speech' in Grammar and little did we realize the true meaning of all these at that age! Noun is the name of a person, place, animal or thing. This same thing is said to be Pronoun when we use he/she, it they, as also their qualities good, bad, etc and verb or adverb some one or somthing doing, is was doing, etc. The ands, ifs, and buts (conjunctions, interjections, or even exclamations), etc. do not matter since they are adjuncts to the first one only?  Now, all these appear very simple. All that we see, hear, experience in our day-to-day existence is meaningless since it deals with persons (vyakti), objects (vastu), or subjects (vishaya). All these are in no way concerned to us unless we establish some concern or interest or relate with these external subjects and objects! This is how the external world begins as a sort of illusion (bhramatmike), rather, does not even exist until we respond, show concern or relate to these. The scriptures assert the same thing. It is an illusion. The world disappears if we close our eyes, or when we are in deep sleep. The same thing can be said about yoga; we can close our door to the worldly existence by keeping quiet, without showing any interest.
Now, the second most interesting thing is about our indulgences. The scriptures assert that we are born ignorant of the reality of the world. We do not understand that the world is fleeting and everything is subject to change in time. The happenings are not at all of any concern to us! The objective phenomenal world existed even before we are born and continue even after we die. It makes no difference to us, whatsoever! It is our foolishness that we go on relating to people, matter, objects and things do not directly concern in anyway. One can exist despite all these just as things happening elsewhere in the distant parts of the world. Nothing concerns us, but we show unnecessary interest in worldly affairs? This is amplified in the works of Sri Shankaracharya as mithyavada, neti, neti, neti, etc.
The simple suggestion given by the scriptures is to take recourse to yoga and control the whimsical mind. It is the vibrant mind, thoughts, desires that prompt one to indulge in worldly affairs. One can rid of this worldly bondage by questioning ourselves the need for this self-indulgences. In fact, there is nothing to gain from our indulgences, All the problems are  due to our indulgences that create complex situations and problems. The problems disappear the moment we withdraw?
Before getting involved in anything let's ask whether it concerns us or not. Second, think about the pros and cons of our indulgences. Third, most important, is to decide whether it gives us everlasting peace, joy and happiness and desist if it is only temporary happiness. This discretion is necessary.
It is very important to live a life of prudence and discretion in every walk of life in order to be happy and joyful. Most of the time we spoil of our life due to unnecessary indulgences.
The Gita says, "Mind is your enemy, as well as, friend; much depends on how you use it".
The true nature of the self is revealed when we drop the name and form, i.e., when the mask is removed. We all move around wearing mask and our true nature is hidden behind it. We never realize that the name and form, the masks we wear, are of no consequences!
