HAPPY NEW YEAR 2017

We wish all our spiritual seekers a very happy purposeful, more meaningful, joyful spiritual pursuits. There is no better joy or happiness than 'visualization', 'darshan'. The joy within is the 'Ocean of Bliss' while what we see and get outside is its bubbles. We, as children, play with the surf, ride with the waves, little knowing we are the Ocean- the vast, deep, unending!

Human Energy- Potential and the Kinetic

'Energy' is an eternal aspect that is neither created nor destroyed. However, it is not clear whether this energy is potential or kinetic as long as the effect i not seen. For instance, a river possesses both potential and kinetic and the potential is never fully harnessed! The enrgy prodiced from a waterfall in the form of electricity is almost nothing as compared to the full potential. So also, the potential of a raio-active mineral; we have harnessed almost nothing!Even so, in the case of the humans.  There is enormous potential human resources and almost nothing has been harnessed!
The human resource potential is not restricted to the physical or mental, but to the spiritual as well! The physical is restricted to the capacity of a person according to his / her age and build. The sumo wrestler is an example. An adult can do some work that cannot be done by a child or an old person. Similarly, there are certain fields where, a person can do some work that cannot be either expected of, or even imagined by others. One can see a porter carrying two or three suitcases and kit bags-all at a time, or laborers loading or unloading food grain bags of 60 Kgs. easily It is open to question whether the work done by a person is proportional to the food one eats or there is some other factors affecting this entire process of working capacity and ability of people to work. A professor delivers a lecture on a subject for hours and hours and a computer operator works on a computer for a few minuts and gets tired. In all these cases, the potential exists and that which is harnessed is extremely less.
The capacity of a person to do physical work is different from that of persons who use their intelligence, may we call it, brain? The mental abilities of a person are also limited. Some can do more and some less, but the potential is there. It may depend on the skill development, the level of technological development, facilities available, etc. All these aside, the potential is there. Some technologically advanced countries may boast of the skill of their people like Korea in computers! Indians have made name in computer applications.
But, when it comes to spiritual development, the potential harnessed so far is almost nothing! What is this spiritual potential? Is it just the number of missionaries preaching Buddhism,Hinduism, Islam, or Jainism? It is just akin to a college lecturer in the department of philosophy or religion. The potential is declared as 'brahmn', the ultimate! How many have harnessed this power, the potential of attaining to the 'brahmn'? So far none! At best, some may have attained the status of being recognized as a great scientist, mathematician or a eminent person in  a certain faculty. Some are intelligent to mend things, nut few could crete! Hence, whatever one has attained in the physical world does not count at all since people soon forget all that has gone by! Nobody will ever look into the oled when some hing new takes its place. Galileo, Newton, and Einstein are all now part of history. But here is one whom the entire world remembers for ages after ages. The Buddha and the Mahavira have taken almost a permanent place in the minds of the people. Bhagavan Sri Krishna of the Bhagavad-Gita is an eternal deified and deifying force! Anybody can become a Bhagavan by merely discarding what one has acquired, not by accumulating! If Gautama can become the Buddha, you and I can also become one. Infact what the scriptures say is that, "There is nothing to attain or become, since you are already that! Just realize the brahmn. "Thou art That", Shvetaketu, says Sage Aruni Uddalaka.
What is this attaining to the 'brahmn'? Is it just sitting cross-legged in lotus position (padmasana) with eyes half-closed and palms in a certain mudra? May be, yes. some may say, no;, it is not just that? Then what is it? Nobody knows? Why? Why is it we do not know what is 'brahmn'? The answer is very simple. It is full potential and the harnessed or the kinetic is not known! It is also said, that the potential and the kinetic are one in this state of 'brahmn'. It may be like the Railway Engine full of steam ready to move, but not yet started. There are a number of factors involved in this. May be, it is not yet clear whether the engine is capable of moving or not. Also, it is possible some body has to permit it to move? Or, it is also possible that its driver is absent! It is not yet clear where it should go.
Thus, the spiritual potential of the humans is known to reach that of 'brahmn' and so far nobody has ever prepared himself/herself for the journey to attain to this! Some may even argue that so and so has attained! But, the reality here is that it, the brahmn, is not something to be attained. It is a state where the starting point and the destination are one and the engine is at rest. Hence, the engine is not expected to move and go anywhere! Whoever knows this has attained to the brahmn, so declare al the scriptures- the Brahma sutras, the Bhagavad-Gita, the Upanishads, and the Veda,
The wise man should merge his speech in his mind and his mind in his intellect. He should merge his intellect in the Cosmic Mind and the Cosmic Mind in the Tranquil Self. Arise! Awake! Approach the great and learn.Like the sharp edge of a razor is that path; so, the wise say, it is ‘hard to tread and difficult to cross’.
Having realised Atman, which is soundless, intangible, formless, undecaying and likewise tasteless, eternal and odourless; having realised That which is without beginning and end, beyond the Great and unchanging-one is freed from the jaws of death.

The wise man that has heard and related the eternal story of Nachiketa, told by Death, is adored in the world of Brahman. And he who, practising self-control, recites the supreme secret in an assembly of Brahmins or at ‘an after-death’ ceremony obtains thereby infinite rewards. Yea, he obtains infinite rewards. [Yajur Veda, Katha Upanishad, Part One, Chapter III, 13-17].

The Hypothetical

Whenever a person starts talking, he begins to talk about somebody or something at some place or the other, an other. Nobody will ever think whether i am really concerned with what i am talking, or just giving thoughts some expression. Thee moment a person becomes aware of this he/she stops talking! Most of the time people indulge in senseless talks. Talking about whatever is seen, heard, read or even experienced has no sense since it does not directly concern at the moment. Even the moment, what is 'Time' flies and becomes meaningless. Hence the best thing for a sensible person is to watch himself, watch what he talks and think whether he should talk, at all. A fool opens his/her mouth with no occasion or called to!  It is hypothetical to talk about somebody whom we do not know, whom we have not seen, and passing judgment on here-say knowledge.
The best policy is to talk only what is immediately necessary and about what is urgently needed and only with persons present with us. Even talking about persons who are not with us at the moment is bad; let alone talking about subjects or objects not of immediate concern to us. This is the first step towards moving in direction of spiritual pursuits. When the mind is silence it is in its natural state. When it vibrates, starts the thinking process, begins fondling playing with ideas, images, imagination and desires and thinks of action, trouble starts! This is the crux of the problem. All are busy about everything except the immediate concern of the Self, knowing the Self and realizing the Self. Thus, the person suffers from ignorance. All the problems of the world is due to this ignorance.

Sri Ramachandra and Bhagavan Sri Krishna

There are eighteen epics that give us innumerable characters depicting different attitudes and behavior according to circumstances. These are not to be taken as real human beings in flesh and blood. In fact, William Shakespeare has created more characters than what even the Creator Chaturmukha Brahma could even imagine, The nature, reality, of existence on the ground and the characters in a novel or drama make lots of difference. The poet imagines what even the Sun can see in His own Light! There is an adage to this effect.
Now, as regards Sri Ramachandra, Prince of Ayodhya, depicted as the blessed son of King who spent much of his life in worldly trouble and turmoils as characterized in the famous epic is entirely different from Bhagavan Sri Krishna depicted in the Bhagavad-Gita, Bhagavata purana, or the Mahabharata. Sri Ram  of treta yug stands in contrast to Sri Krishna of dvaparayug. In Kaliyug, of course, we have the Buddha, a contemporary of Mahaveera, bot attained persons, in a sense. Thus we have several role models for us. However, Bhagavan Sri Krishna stands unique here. He stands as a friend, philosopher, guide and a redeemer, too.
The famous lines in the Gita says, "I shall return to restore the Veda, dharma whenever people destroy it"! See the two verses that read as: yada yada hi dharmasya glanirbhavati bharata abhyutthanam adharmasya tadaatmaanam srujamyaham || paritranaya sadhunam vinasaya ca dushkritam dharma samsthapanarthaya sambhavami yuge yuge || BG 4.7-8].
If Bhagavan Shree Krishna says, I shall appear again and again, and has already appeared 25 times (avatars) how many Rams, Krishnas, Buddhas and Mahaviras should be there? At least 7 for each of the seven yugas that have gone by, isn't it? Prof. S.N. Das Gupta traces at least 7 or 8 Shankaras. There is mention of Vrushbha, the first Tirthankara in the Rk Veda. So let us get these things right!
There is a very interesting work in "The Sphinx Speaks", by Sardar Jvalaa Singh, Delhi 1956. The passages taken from Rk Veda are quoted here and a Map of India showing the Kingdoms ruled by Shiva in Kailasa, Brahma in Brahma Desha/ China, Vishnu in Trivishtap (Tibet), Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakashipu with Sage Kashyapa near the Caspian Sea in the region of present day S. Russia and Ravana in Lanka and Kubera in Meru parvat. This Map of India is dated back to 500 000 years when the Himalayas were just rising above the region of Sea of Tethys (tetya sagara) the remnant of which is the Mediterranean Sea. The Regions was almost 3000 Metres to 4000 M. above Mean Sea Level. (like the present day Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Anantnag, Srinagar in Kashmir. Hence, there is no wonder our legendary figures were real Kings and for the citizens the Kings were Gods! This is in contrast to the recent Ayodhya King Dashrath and his son Ram, Lakshman, Bharat and Shatrughna. The Sages were teachers like Vashishtha and Vishvamitra that sounds a little mythic!
Hence, we must be very careful in reading the ancient history, epics and mythology o the Veda and the Upanishads. All these are to  be studied with a pinch of salt.
Now, to be very clear as to the sambhavami yuge yuge, the following will make this clear. We are living now in the irst quarter of the Kaliyuga, the fourth and the last quarter of the Vaivasvata Manvantara. Each Manvantara lasts 432 000 000 years and the Kaliyug lasts for 432000 years. The dvapa is double the kali and treta is three times that of the laki and the first Krutayug is four times that of kali yug. But, what is a yuga of a Million Years is open to question since the length of the year increases with the increase in the mean velocity of te rotation of the Earth! One year 1n 2016 may not be of the same length of time even in 1st Century A.D or 10 000 B.C.! The earth was rotating faster in the beginning a hundred  million years ago when compared to a million years ago. The first manvantara is that of Vivasvan, the Sun with King Uttanapada whose son Dhruva prayed Lord narayana and became a Star (the Pole Star!). Whatever happened at the beginning of the Earth's history is there hidden in the fossils, the sandstone layers and the Himalayan rocks and always there for the students to study.
Sri Krishna is depicted differently in different literature such as Bhagavata and the Mahabharata and entirely different from that of Bhagavan in the Gita. Sri Krishna is revealing the secret of creation and the ways and means to overcome the problems of life and the ultimate goal of life. The Gita is a secret document having terse verses giving the reality of existence. The Lord says that He Himself is a non-entity, a non-being, a formless aspect of the universe that can be better explained in the scientific terminology of quantum mechanics and particle physics as fermion and boson, not even a neutri, electrom or a proton! Everything is thus a transformation of one non-existent into a manifest form that reverts into its original form as stated in the second law of thermodynamics.
Thus,  the entire creation is an illusion! Sri Shankaracharya of Keladi, or that Adi Shankara, or a Shankara who wrote Soundarya Lahari and went to Kailas to show it to Lord Shiva, or a Shiva whoever it is, is a matter left to one's understanding.  Ultimately like demonetization, everything ends in a delsusion for illusion of illusion is delusion.
Ultimately, the Gita reveals the true nature of our existence. Even a person like Rama who had instructions unde teachers like Vashishtha and Vishvamitra and had 'atmabodha', ran behind a Golden Deer little bothering to know a demon like Marichi cxould take the form of a Golden Deer and cheat lakshman. For sheer of love of his brother and wife Ram got into trouble! But. Sri Krishna remained unperturbed in the goings on in the Battlefield of Hastinapura (symbolism narrating the worldly life ofpeople in the world) and stood apart as a witness, 'sakshin', to guid the willing and the surrendering devotees. He ultimately, pardoned and released from bondage whom he liked at the end!

Yoga

The term 'yoga' is derived from the root 'yuj', meaning, 'to join'. Hence yoga sadhana is an exercise 'to unite' what is disconnected, disjointed. What is disconnected or disjointed in the spiritual world is the jivatman with paramatman. It is also the body and mind working disregarding the soul, that constitutes the core of the substance. Lot of problems are created when a person works with his hands or legs without applying mind as in the case of driving a vehicle or working on a machine. When such is the case, one can imagine the consequences when the jiva goes on with its day-to-day activities disregarding the soul. The entire body and mind are the product of the soul, but it is disregarded almost all though the life by the jiva. This is the crux of the problem. The jiva gets into problems due to this utter disregard of the soul that is at the root of its creation! Hence, the learned sages like Sage Patanjali or Sage Shandilya devised the yoga sutras that would help the jiva to enable it to get connected to the Soul, the Atman. The Atman may, at a later stage, work itself to get united with the super soul, the higher one, the paramatman.
The ashtanga yog sutras suggest the eight-fold path- yama, niyama, pratyahara, ishvara pranidana, asana, pranayama, dhyana, and samadhi. The sadhaka has to take one by one slowly all these steps in order to reach the top. It may take several lives since each and every step is slippery and the chances are that every time one climbs will slip back! A trained teacher may help to some extent, but one achieves depends much on one's own effort. there is hardly a single soul that has attained to the highest nirvikalpa samadhi during the last 2500 years! The Buddha is the one who attained to this state, so far. Hence, it is open to question as to whether what we are doing is right in this yogabhyasa?
What the present day yoga teachers, who boast of a Master's Degree in Yoga, too, do is to break the brittle bones of their students teaching them asanas that are not suited to their age. Yoga is age-specific and the asanas and pranayamas are very delicate instruments that lead to samadhi via dhyana, dharana and astute renunciation. These are not to be adopted without the preliminary steps being perfected, such as absolute adherence to satya, asteya, shoucha, etc addresses in yama and niyama. These are absolutely difficult propositions to an ordinary person. So, yogabhyasa is no joke! In fact, if a person attains to pratyahara and Ishvarapranidana, there is no need for further yogic practices! Ishvara pranidana is like the take off of a aircraft that is put on autopilot. There is nothing one can do in that state. Higher level of Consciousness takes care of irself and tehre is a magnet that attracts it adn drive it higher and higher.
hence, one should be careful here. It is not for maintaining general health that we take to yoga. It is to attain to the unity level, teh Buddha state of existence that we underatake to yoga..

The Materialistic and the Spiritual

Human beings are born on earth as a mysterious animal that can move, think, talk, and act. This endowment is a special feature in the humans due to constant upgrading the level of creatures by a process of trial and error, by constant experiment testing the ability to survive under dire circumstances, and upgrading skills to suit its survival. The Monkeys or primates do not have these abilities although they are intelligent, move and chatter. What makes the humans so special is their ability to destroy themselves and others, too. This is not the case with the birds, animals and other species which are enjoying life. The animals do fight, but do not kill. Some animals kill other animals for food, for they are created that way. Otherwise they cannot survive and their existence is at stake. But the humans fight and kill! There is no question of killing others to survive, but still they fight and kill! This is the tragedy.
Now, the question about materialistic and the spiritual comes here. The human civilization is materialistic since it is the tendency of the humans to think in terms of materialistic progress. This tendency is due to the nature of human existence, that is materialistic. The human body is made of matter, the five elements, depend son food and water that are matter. The mind is matter and it thinks only about matter! The entire life of a man is built around matter, acquiring food, building shelter and improving the means of acquiring wealth, that is called materialistic progress.
The Spiritual aspects do not matter! Matter comes from spirit. The sublime aspect of matter is spirit. It is a forward movement that makes spirit a matter. It is a backward movement that turns matter into spirit. Mind is matter. Mind is the product of spirit. Mind can become matter when it can revert to its pure state. Mind becomes heavy, gross, matter. This is because it is the product of food. The quality of mind depends on teh quality of the food. Sattva guna comes from sattvika ahara like milk and fruits. Bhagavad-Gita gives a detailed account of this. This is the reason why we find man who eats rajasa ahara becomes demoniac, rakshasa. The world has seen constant fights leading to war due to the food aspect. The saints do not fight; the kings fight.
The spiritual people are not materialistic. They do not think of acquiring wealth; rather, they would give up everything. They know there is happiness in giving rather than storing. Bliss or ananda is a built in quality of tyaga, yajnya, sacrifice. The present day tendency to hoard money, food grains and gold and other things are the product of rajasa guna. Sattvika guna will make the world more peaceful. Parents encourgae children to become economically prosperous little knowing that this leads to competition, strife, illwill and ultimately total destruction. Parents should encourage children to learn how to live peacefully, work for the upliftment of the people who are deprived, ignorant, gullible and exploited by strong, rich and powerful. They should teach how future lies in spiritual progress, not material progress.
This may mean a retrogressive measure to many who think in terms of materialistic progress. But this is the truth. The jiva is held in a mesh of magical world that is governed by attachment, ego, anger, pride, envy, etc that are all detrimental to the very existence! The Bhagavad-Gita brings out the truth how the entire evil forces, Kuru sena, were destroyed at the end,all due to envy, greed and attachment. Bhagavan Shree Krishna advocates spiritual development through dhyana yoga. Spiritual practices bring joy, peace, and happiness, not the craving for more comforts, wealth.
Thus, the entire journey of man on earth is one of 'search for truth'.Yhe mpment this truth is found, the journey ends! But the 'truth' is not found here, in the materialistic since it is the untruth, rather, truth un-folded! Truth, the 'sat' has un-folded; fold it back! This has been the spiritual practice of all the sages- unfolding and folding the pack of truth. First the material world unfolded itself from the spiritual, the 'spirit of matter'. The  spirit of matter goes to the very beginning of consolidation and condensation of stellar dust into the fermions and the bosons, the primordial matter. These produced in a gradual unfoldment of the neutron, electrons, and the protons and fianlly manifest as the organic cells and inorganic matter- the gaseous, liquid and the solid, the metallic and the non-metallic, etc etc.
Thus, the paraphernalia of the material world appeared to the inquisitive minds. This, too, is a matter of one's interest. Nothing exists for a person who is not botheed about all these. One may take interest in some selected faculty and investigate and may not find anything at the end. What all find at the end is oneself! The Self is the truth; this self only is unfolded into the material world. This material world unfolds in all its hues and colours as a vibration of energy and names and forms all illusions, at that!
  This is the Sage wisdom.

Initiation (Deeksha)

There is a system of initiation of a disciple into spiritual world and, this is done by a 'guru', an attained person. It seems Sri Ramakrishna's wife Smt. Sharadamba used to initiate anybody and everybody, even on Railway platforms in Howrah and Calcutta. We are not questioning the powers or methodology here. In a way, almost all are initiated, some soon after birth, and some after eight years of age with thread ceremony and brahmopadesham. The disciple is given a mantra here. This is in a way breathing into the ear a sacred word that protects the son or disciple. mantra is a powerful tool that protects whoever uses it with faith, sanctity and discretion.
This 'mantra deeksha' is an elaborate ritual for some. It is just a symbolic presentation in most of the cases. But, initiation is a must for all. There cannot be a sense of direction without this initiation, whether the guru takes care of the disciple or not later. It is also open to  question how many are interested in spiritual pursuits even after this initiation or deeksha. Hence, in many cases it is an academic exercise. But, what exactly happens is the effect of deeksha on the disciple or seeker. This initiation acts as a 'flow of current', the individualised limited spiritual power inherent in the jiva within gets connected to the abundant reservoir of cosmic energy! The individualised soul (Atman) gets activated, and gets connected to super soul paramatman. Thus the outward journey of the embodied soul begins! What was hitherto a limited journey within the terrestrial sphere, bhu loka, going round and round, taking repeated births takes an upward trajectory like the spacecraft leaving the earth. This is the purpose.

Shakti-paat

'Shakti-paat' or flow of Energy is an essential part of spiritual practice. This can happen only from a higher level to the lower. Almost all the jivas on earth revel in sensuous life since they are created that way. The three Gunas (rajas, sattva and tamas), five basic elements (space, air, fire, water and earth) and the five subtler aspects to experience the world (sound, touch, form, taste and smell) along with the senses to experience these by the jiva are the main building blocks. These function under the influence of buddhi (intelligence), manas (Mind), chitta (moods), ahankar (ego) and the world goes on. The world disappears the very moment these building block collapse. The entire objective, phenomenal world based on these building blocks are created only for the enjoyment of the jivas, but the tragedy is that the jiva suffers due to the ignorance of the fact that these building blocks are subject to collapse anytime. The destruction of the visible experienced objective  or materialistic world is possible by the realization of the fact that these are elements are subject to limitations of time, space and cause and effect. Hence, a jnyani, a learned sage who has realised this truth can help any jiva that seeks liberation. This liberation, salvation or mukti and moksha of the embodied soul, jiva is possible by 'shakti-paat' (flow of spiritual energy/chit-shakti/jnyan) from the enlightened soul to the ignorant soul. However, there is an essential condition laid down for this purpose. The jiva that seeks release from embodiment from rebirth once and for all must be first determined and seek the help of a guru unconditionally. Then only, a guru comes to help him/her.
This salvation is a slow process and may take any length of time; however, there is a possibility of instant release if the jiva is mature enough, ripe enough to cast away the earthly existence. When there is divine interference, there comes the help of a guru and the divine energy flows through drushti paat (eyes of a guru), living with the guru, touch of the guru or by traveling with guru. Sant Jnyaneshvar has enumerated fifteen methods by which a guru transforms the disciple and initiates him for spiritual attainments. The journey of the jiva ends with enlightenment and the person will not go in search of food, entertainment or company thereafter. He may live eternally in supreme bliss since his joy does not depend on the mortal frame, a physical body that need food, water for its survival. Such an enlightened soul is amidst us but we cannot know them because of our ignorance and attachment to worldly life. There need be no doubt about it. It is like a fruit that will not automatically drop all on its own and fall to ground unless it is ripe enough; and, even a slight breeze will make a ripe fruit drop!

Guru comes to You

It is no exaggeration and a fact that Gur comes to you when your innermost desire is to seek salvation. Salvation is not desired by one and all since the jiva has taken an embodied journey in order to enjoy the qualities of the earth The earth is a banquet hall and the supreme Lord has thrown a banquet to jivas to enjoy it. No jiva, whether a bird, insect,,animal or man want to die and every jiva has come to enjoy )its karma phala) here. We have seen patients lying in the ICU and the CCU not leaving the body despite its inability to function. What is it that binds the soul to thee body? Is the soul so subservient to body? What is it that makes struggling for life when it is difficult to a breath! it is all mysterious. The jiva is a physical entity in which the soul is embedded. It is this embedded soul that clings to the body even though it knows full well that it is foolishness. The soul is a pure and pristine fire particle (angiras), a star dust, a photon. It is blemishless; but it is embedded in mire, earthly existence. It has entered the soil as food (annam), air as vital force (prana), and built a solid physical body and survives on food for its survival. The most surprising part of the story of this jiva is that it can survive without food or water only for a week or two. The body becomes weak, unable to move, but will not die! Why the prana clings on to the weak and dilapidated body? The answer is avidya, ignorance, or true knowledge covered by attachment, ego and the acquired gunas. Once the jiva realizes that it is nothing but Light, Intelligence (knowledge), Force (motive power inherent) and Energy (Pure and inexhaustible) and just has acquired a physical body, the prana (LIFE FORCE) leaves! So what binds the jiva to prana is ignorance of its true nature. This is explained in pratyabhijnya hridayam of Kashmir Shaivism. When the jiva desires to revert to its true nature it thinks of God and God sends a Guru. Thus Guru comes to lift you up from the mire, earthly existence just like the wireman comes to give connection to you newly built house and there comes the Light!
The author had a divine providence and got one in Swami Yogananda who made the author a Chaitanyananda, relieving him from the drudgery of materialistic world! [See Photo below].More in next.

Srividya in Vedic tradition

SrIvidyA in Vedic Tradition
TheSamayachara Traditionabides by theVedic doctrines and, as such, the principles followed by the upasakas are of the Veda.EkaM sadviprA bahudhA vadaMti | (Learned sages speak the One Only in many a names). (Rk Veda)
Sa AtmA, aMgAnyAnyA dEvatA | He is the Self of all, AtmA (the soul), all gods are His limbs. (Taittiriya Upanishat)
SarIra kaMcukitaH SivOjIvaH | niSkaMcukaH paraSivaH || “God garbed in the body is Self; disrobed He is the God Supreme.” (Kalpasutra).
Each God has a special and distinct function to perform in the universe, has a distinct field of activity and presides over a particular realm in the cosmic kingdom.
There exist several worlds and universes in serried sequences spreading over a rising tier of consciousness and planes.
There is one Supreme Deity who presides over all other Gods and worlds; and, the subordinate gods function according to the powers delegated to them. Thus there is delegation of powers with a hierarchy, gradation, names and forms of personalities and emanations as devata. The numerous Devatas help man in his spiritual pursuits, aid him in his uphill task of reaching the summit, the Supreme Deity.(Rk Veda)
All Gods reside in ‘parame vyoman’, the Akasha (Supreme Ether), also known as KaM Brahma. All Devatas, their Mantra and the seed-letters live here.  These sounds descend to the last step which is the human speech on this earth.
The Akasha is the imperishable Brahman (vast and deep with no beginning or end). It is the eternal source of all sounds, the sonorous rhythms, that issue from the heights to form the realms or planes and build the worlds and also to function by casting harmonic spells for their sustenance. (The Vak and the Veda by Kapali Sastriar: “Light on the Ancients”)
The Vak itself is the vehicle on which the gods come inresponse to the prayer of the Rishi.
The Rishi contacts with the power of consciousness through Mantra, the supernal Ether and in the Ether, the particular frequency of the sound symbol. Thus, the Rishi is a drushtara who sees the Devata with the help of a mantra and sees the mantra-devata and hears at least one mantra from the Devata.
The Mantra is the sound-body of the deity, while the Yantra is its form-pattern. The nameless and the formless has become this world of names and forms
The Tantra teaches that through the name and the form one should sense the nameless and the formless.
Mantra is the name, Yantra, the form, are the keys of the devotee with his name and form is one in identity with the deity that is nameless and formless.Standing on the threshold of, the sadhaka is the Maya as well as the Brahman. He is the Light that glows brightening inward as well as outward.
The Mantra Shastra is a tantra acclaimed as a great Sadhana Shastra. The tantra affirms the existence of the universe as the manifestation of the Divine. It affirms the existence of a Transcendental Absolute Brahman. One can visualize Brahman with the help of a mantra (Chandas) and Devata.
Tantra Shastra has no objection in treating the Devi as Maya as long She is considered the Divine Mother- the source of all creation.
Vak, the creative word of the Veda becomes the Nada (subtle sound), the Adya Spanda (primeval throb or vibration), which develops into the Bijakshara (seed-letter) of the mantra). The original throb is in the form of Light.

Vibration and Waves

KAMPANA [SPANDA OR VIBRATION]
“The whole world trembles in Prana.” We find here a quality of Brahmn viz., its constituting the abode of the whole world. That the word ‘Prana’ denotes the highest Self appears from such passages as ‘the Prana of Prana’ (Bri. Up. IV-4-18).
Further, the scripture declares, “No mortal lives by the Prana and the breath that goes down. We live by another in whom these two re pose” (Katha Up. II-5-5).
In the passage subsequent to the one under discussion, it is said that all the keep in their path and the sun and monn rise and set at appropriate time for the fear of the supreme Lord. “From terror of it fire burns, from terror the sun shines, from terror Indra and Vayu and Death as the fifth run away.”
Brahmn and not the vital force is spoken of as the subject of that passage, which is represented as the cause of fear on the part of the entire universe inclusive of the Prana itself. Brahmn only is the cause of the life of the entire universe including the vital force.
Brahmn is compared to a thunderbolt because he inspires fear in fire, air, sun, Indra and Yama. Further, Immortality is declared to him who knows this Prana. “A man who knows him only passes over death, there is no other path to go.” (Svet. Up. VI-15).
Prana is also often used to denote Brahmn in the Sruti.
Brahmn, the Cause of the Universe
“In the beginning, my dear, this universe was Being (Sat) alone, one only without a second. Some say that in the beginning this was non-being (asat) alone, one only without a second; and from that non-being, being was born.”
Aruni said: But how, indeed, could it be thus, my dear? How could Being be born from non-being? No, my dear, it was Being alone that existed in the beginning, one only without a second.
“It (Being, or Brahmn) thought: 'May I be many; may I grow forth.' (Eko’ham bahusyam |). It created fire. That fire thought: 'May I be many; may I grow forth.' It created water. That is why, whenever a person is hot and perspires, water is produced from fire (heat) alone. That water thought: 'May I be many; may I grow forth.' It created food (i.e. earth). That is why, whenever it rains anywhere, abundant food is produced. From water alone is edible food produced.” [Samaveda, Chan. Upa., VI, II – Brahmn, the Cause of the Universe, 1 – 4].
Some learned men speak of the inherent nature of things and some speak of time, as the cause of the universe. They all, indeed, are deluded. It is the greatness of the self-luminous Lord that causes the Wheel of Brahmn to revolve. He by whom the whole universe is constantly pervaded is the Knower, the Author of time. He is sinless and omniscient, It is at His command that the work which is called earth, water, fire, air and Akasha appears as the universe. All this should be reflected upon by the wise. The yogi who first performs actions and then turns away from them and who practises one, two, three, or eight disciplines, unites one principle with another principle and with the help of virtues cultivated by the self and of subtle tendencies attains Liberation in course of time. He who attains purity of heart by performing actions as an offering to the Lord and merges prakriti and all its effects in Brahmn, realises his true Self and thereby transcends phenomena. In the absence of maya, both collective and individual, all his past actions are destroyed. After the destruction of the prarabdha karma he attains final Liberation. [Yajurveda, Svet.Upa., Part I, Chapter VI, 1-4].
Of all these living beings, there are only three origins: those born from an egg, those born from a living being and those born from a sprout. [Samaveda, Chan. Upa. VI, III - The Three-fold Development, 1]
O Lord of the wood, whom this ax well-whetted has set in our midst with resultant joy, put forth branches a hundred times over! So may we also with thousands be blessed! [Rk Veda III, 8, 11].
How worthy of telling and how superb your birth, O Steed, when first you whinnied, on seeing the light, as you rose from the ocean of sea or of space with your eagle wings and limbs of swift gazelle.[Rk Veda I, 163, 1].
This Steed, the gift of Death, Trita has harnessed, while Indra was the first of all to mount him, the Gandharva first to grasp in his hands the reins. From the substance of the Sun, O Gods, you fashioned this Steed. You, O Steed, are Death, you the Sun; you by a secret decree are Trita; by only a little are you distinguished from Soma. You have, they say, three connections in heaven. In heaven, they say, you have three connections, three in the waters and three within the ocean. You resemble, O Steed, the Lord of the Waters, for there, they say, is your highest birthplace. [Rk Veda I, 163, 2 – 4].
Darkness was there, all wrapped around by darkness, and all was Water indiscriminate. Then that which was hidden by the Void, that One, emerging, stirring, through power of Ardor, came to be. In the beginning Love arose, which was the primal germ cell of the mind. The Seers, searching in their hearts with wisdom, discovered the connection of Being in Nonbeing. A crosswise line cut Being from Nonbeing. What was described above it, what below? Bearers of seed there were and mighty forces, thrust from below and forward move above.[Rk Veda X, 129, 3-5].
At first was neither Being (sada) nor Nonbeing (asada). There was not air nor yet sky beyond. What was its wrapping? Where? In whose protection? Was Water there, unfathomable and deep? There was no death then, nor yet deathlessness; of night or day there was not any sign. The One breathed without breath, by its own impulse. Other than that was nothing else at all. [Rk Veda X, 129, 1-2]
May noble wisdom come to us from all sides, undeceived, unhindered, overflowing, so that the devas may always help us onward, unceasing in their care, our Guardians day by day. Ours be the blissful love of devas who desire straight life; about us may the grace of devas lie. We have approached the devas for friendship; may they prolong our life to the full, so that we may live0 .[Rk Veda 1.89.1-2. hv, p. 109]
The resplendent Self, through the ecstacy of spiritual joy, inspires all virtuous thoughts among men of divine nature. [Rk Veda 8.32.28. rs v. 9, p. 3,025]
O self-luminous Divine, remove the veil of ignorance from before me, that I may behold your light. Reveal to me the spirit of the scriptures. May the truth of the scriptures be ever present to me. May I seek day and night to realize what I learn from the sages. [Rk Veda, Aitareya Upa.,, Invocation. uph, p. 95].

The Secret of Creation

“In the beginning arose the Golden Germ: he was, as soon as born, the Lord of Being, sustainer of the Earth and of this Heaven. What God shall we adore with our oblation? He who bestows life-force and hardy vigor, whose ordinances even the Gods obey, whose shadow is immortal life--and death-- What God shall we adore with our oblation?  Who by his grandeur has emerged sole sovereign of every living thing that breathes and slumbers, he who is Lord of man and four-legged creatures What God shall we adore with our oblation?  To him of right belong, by his own power, the snow-clad mountains, the world-stream, and the sea. His arms are the four quarters of the sky. What God shall we adore with our oblation?  Who held secure the mighty Heavens and Earth, who established light and sky's vast vault above, who measured out the ether in mid-spheres--What God shall we adore with our oblation?” [Rk Veda X, 121, 1- 5].
THE SECRET OF CREATION
“Who really knows? Who can presume to tell it? Whence was it born? Whence issued this creation? Even the Gods came after its emergence. Then who can tell from whence it came to be? That out of which creation has arisen, whether it held it firm or it did not, He who surveys it in the highest heaven, He surely knows or maybe He does not!” [Rk Veda X, 129, 6 – 7]
From blazing Ardor Cosmic Order came and Truth; from thence was born the obscure night; from thence the Ocean with its billowing waves. From Ocean with its waves was born the year which marshals the succession of nights and days, controlling everything that blinks the eye. Then, as before, did the creator fashion the Sun and Moon, the Heaven and the Earth, the atmosphere and the domain of light. [Rk Veda X, 190, 1 – 3].
THE BEGINNINGLESS BEGINNING
At first was neither Being nor Nonbeing.
Bearers of seed there were and mighty forces, thrust from below and forward move above. [Rk Veda X, 129, 1 – 5].
With the sacrifice the Gods sacrificed to the sacrifice. Those were the first established rites. These powers ascended up to heaven where the ancient Gods and other beings dwell. O Lord of the Holy Word! That was the first beginning of the Word when the Seers fell to naming each object. That which was best and purest, deeply hidden within their hearts, they revealed by the power of their love. The Seers fashioned the Word by means of their mind, sifting it as with sieves the corn is sifted. Thus friends may recognize each other's friendship. An auspicious seal upon their word is set. They followed by sacrifice the path of the Word and found her entered in among the Seers. They led her forth and distributed her among many. In unison the seven Singers chant her. Yet certain ones, though seeing, may not see her, and other ones, though hearing, may not hear her. But to some the Word reveals herself quite freely, like fair-robed bride surrendering to her husband. [Rk Veda X, 71, 1 – 4]
Let’s see what the scriptures say about creation (srushti).
“You have no knowledge of him who created these worlds; some other thing has interposed between you. The reciters of hymns who ravish life in their ritual proceed with their muttering, enwrapped in confusion and ignorance.” [Rk Veda X, 82, 7]
“Endowed with gunas, the jiva performs action, seeking its fruit; and again, it reaps the fruit of what it has done. Assuming all forms and led by the three gunas, the jiva, ruler of the pranas, roams about following the three paths, according to its deeds.” [Yajurveda, Svet. Upa, Part I, Chapter V, 7].

Prasthanatrayi

It may be seen in the sacred book of the Hindus, the Bhagavad-Gita, Lord Shree Krishna warns Arjuna “not to be carried away by the attractive superficial meaning of the Rks of the Veda”. Since these are of qualitative nature and drags into the the abyss of the ocean of Sansar offering name, fame, wealth and such other treasures of the objective world, it is sure to drown you in the whirlpool. One has to transcend the qualitative expressions of the Rks and reach the state of attribute-less (nirguna) Brahmn, the highest Truth, through contemplation. The secrets of the Veda cannot be ever understood by ordinary methods of study. Contemplation, dharana, and dhyana yoga (Raja Yoga) or Transcendental Meditation will greatly help in this regard.
Since the Veda remained a secret only a few initiated fortunate ones had access to it; the common people had no access to it till now. However, a few intelligent scholars have now got access to these scriptures and are trying to analyze them. They have taken to Yoga and other spiritual practices in order to contemplate on the Brahmn and realize the Truth by themselves. This has helped them to decode the Vedic hymns to some extent. However, it is still beyond the common man to comprehend it. The language of the Veda is too complicated and at times seems incoherent, ambiguous and simply meaningless. The meaning and purport of the Vedic terms are not easy to understand.
These doctrines of the Veda summed up in a few concise editions by learned sages are known as the “Upanishads”. Here the term upa-ni-sha means ‘sitting close’ in order to hear the mystic sound of Rks. There are almost Two hundred and fifty or more Upa.,s and all are not authentic versions; only a Hundred and eight are well known. Shree Shankaracharya has given commentary on the ten most important Upa.,s- Ishavasya, katha, Kena, Prashna, Chandogya, Brihadaranyaka, Mundaka, Mandukya, Aiteeriya, and Taitteeria. The Koushitake, Paingea, Maitrayani, Muktikopanishat, and many others important Upanishads give valuable information since they deal with mantra, yoga, adhyatma, births and deaths, etc.
The Upanishads are called the Texts of Vedanta since they constitute the summary of the Veda. They reveal the secrets of the Veda in many different ways. These are explained separately in “VEDANTA”- Knowledge Supreme.by the same author. Besides the Veda and the Upa.,s there are eighteen Puranas (epics) believed to be written by an eminent Sage Veda Vyasa. Nobody knows anything about this Great Sage believed to be incarnation of Vishnu. There are great epics like the Brahma Purana, Padma Purana, Vishnu Purana, the Shiva Purana, the epic magnum opus Mahabharata, Ramayana, Shreemad Bhagavata, etc. There are the Brahma Sutras that are supposed to be a guide to these difficult Scriptures. A separate Text of the Bhagavad-Gita has been created along with Shree Vishnu Sahasranama from the Mahabharata. These are the sources of our eternal values- ‘sanatana dharma’.These texts shape the individual’s mental attitudes, manovrutti when strictly adhered to. The Ritam, Satyam and dharma are to be followed in both private and public life if one has to attain peace and prosperity. Besides these, there are the Narada Bhakti Sutra, the Manu Smruti, the Patanjali Ashtanga Yoga sutra and Shandilya Yoga that help us to know the secrets of good health, happiness and successful life.
Today, we have a large amount of scientific literature concerning all aspects of human life. The advent of technology has given access to secret knowledge of stars, Light and Life. Now we have advanced astrophysics, nuclear physics, quantum mechanics, biotechnology and genetic engineering in addition to study of waves and vibrations. However, one may take recourse to the Shrutis and Smrutis such as the Veda, the Upanishads, and other scriptures cited above. These spiritual materials are very useful for sadhana as svadhyaya literature and Meditation Guides. The techniques of Yoga lerant from an experienced teacher will greatly help us to attain to the goal of life.
Some of the more important Vedic sayings and Upanishads-Vakyas are explained here. These are the sum and substance of the Veda. Among the several important mahavakyas, the following are to be realized by the spiritual seeker. Even if one mahavakya is realized it delivers him from the eternal bondage and ensures the liberation of the embodied soul once and for all. Even a single letter like the sacred “Om” will do sometimes to get Enlightenment; such is the power and potency of the akshara, the letter of the alphabet, when it is charged with the ‘sat’. It is called Ekakshara Brahma.
pajnyanam Brahma  | Ishavasyam idam sarvam |
 sarvam khaluvidam Brahma |
These three important mahavakyas clearly state thatthe entire universe is pervaded by supreme Consiousness (chit-shakti)”; here, the principle is: “Everything is Consciousness”, ie, shivam achutam sundaram,  anantam,  anandam”.
This entire universe is pervaded by Consciousness (chit-shakti); everything is Consciousness, Brahmn [Aitareya Upa., of the RkVeda].

 [Rk Veda VII-59-12]
Whoever sees the self in all and all in his self’ knows Brahmn. He attains to Brahmn who finds no difference in names, forms and functions of creation. This is the fundamental principle. Once this principle is understood, the attitude of people changes from the present greedy selfish man always seeking profit and pleasure and turns to a selfless, loving human being and then from human to divine. The divinity inherent in man has to evolve and this is not possible without the aid of ancient scriptures. The present materialistic approach to life is dangerous to human existence since it brings mutual ill-will, distrust, strife and ultimately destruction. It is not the aim or goal of life. The goal of life is Fulfillment and Enlightenment as also, redemption, liberation of the embodied soul, once for all- mukti.

Spiritual;Heritage of India

What is the upadhi, support of this univre? On whom are firmly founded earth and sky and the air in between; so too, the fire, moon, sun, and wind- each one knowing his own place? Tell me of that Support (upadhi)-who may he be? In whose one limb all the Gods- three and thirty in number, are Affixed. Tell me of that Support--who may he be?  [Atharva Veda X, 7, 13].

There are a number of unanswered questions and modern science is still groping in darkness. Despite much advancement in scientific studies, there is much to be learnt in the field of waves and vibrations, light, magnetism, gravity, thoughts, ideas, emotions, will-power, dreams, and such other forces.Material science cannot answer the questions pertaining to the spiritual aspects that govern the creation, sustenance, and dissolution of the universe. Nobody can ever explain where the manas and chitta (mind and mentation process), prana (life-force), and prajnya (consciousness), come from.It is also difficult to know how desires arise and how they operate. The consciousness pervades the universe and encomapass all movable and immovable materials. It is impossible to explain how a single sperm of thr millions ejaculated, when it enters an egg-cell, manifests itself! Whether it is a huge shark, a monkey, an elephant or a human the process of life formation is similar. Also, it is strange how the structural aspects such as the anatomy and physiology of the living beings like the quadrupeds or bipeds, or the humans are designed to such perfection that a jiva can live and function meticulously for decades after decades! Unlike the modern scientists who search for the answer in the sub-atomic particles, the yogins turn to transcendental meditative state and contemplate on specific problems and seek answers. These visionaries perceive the truth and reveal what they have envisioned in simple vowels and consonants, sacred words called mantra or formula. This is the ancient visdom, the spiritual heritage of India.
This has been handed down to us since times immemorial. It is imbibed in our culture. It gives us an insight into the cultural tradition of the Vedic people. The power of the mantra they chanted, the effect of the tapas, the strength and vigor of the Doctrines that sustained itself all through the ages and what all they learnt and taught are relevant even to this day. In fact, our very survival depends on this sanatana dharma. However, today people, due to their ignorance, have lost interest in these great teachings. The teachings of the scriptures include the Veda, the Upa.,s, the Brahma Sutra, the Puranas numbering eighteen, and the Bhagavad-Gita; together these are known as the ‘Ancient Scriptures’ in popular parlance in India. The Vedic verses are a rich and resourceful site for our knowledge about creation.
The Upanishads, the Bhagavad-Gita and the Brahma Sutras, together are called ‘Prasthanatrayi’. It is the trinity of the sacred scriptures that reveal the secret of the Brahma. In the first place the Upa.,s, culled out of the Veda emphatically assert that Brahmn is the efficient and the material cause of creation. It upholds the doctrines enshrined in the Veda. Next, the Bahagavad-Gita reveals the secret of Brahmn and Shree Krishna says that none so far has realized the fact that the supreme Lord only exists and nothing exists here. What all exists here is the shadow of the omniscient, omnipotent and the omnipresent supreme Lord. It is the pure Consciousness that pervades the universe. Lord Shree Krishna stands as Indra, the Lord of the luminous Mind in Kurukshetra, the battlefield- the Mind, where ‘to do or not to do’- the duality persists; here He stands as supreme Consciousness (Mahat- Prajnya) whereas Arjuna stands as the confused Mind (manobhranta), full of attachment (moha).
The Bhagavad-Gita is by far the one of the scriptures held in highest esteem and it reveals Jnyana; it is the Yogopanishad revealing the secret of creation. Since these words (Gitopadesha) of the Lord are first revealed to the Sun, Vivaswan, the First Manu, Svayambhu Manu.  Hence, it is older than the Veda and the Upa.,s. What all are stated in the Gita are also found in the Veda and the Upa.,s. The Gita is also ‘apourusheya’, not spoken by any ordinary human, rather, visualized by great sages in their transcendental meditative modes, and it is as old as the Universe. It is dates back to the brain-child or mantrasya putrah or the angirasas, dated back to unknown times! In a sense it deals with the birth of the Stars and times older than the Earth and the Moon. Now, the third one, Brahma Sutras complete this summary reiterating the facts of the Veda, the Upa.,s, and the Bhagavad-Gita. Hence, all Knowledge is one, the Veda, vidmeaningKnowledge’. In fact, it was one only in the beginning known as ‘the Ekaana’, the Veda taught by Lord Sri Hari Narayana to Lord Sankarshana. It concerns with the para vidya, higher Knowledge, the knowledge of brahmn, the Self, unlike the material science that is a lower knowledge (apara vidya). Whoever knows this is called the Vedavidu, knower of the Brahm.
Thus, the prasthana-thrayee constitutes the basis of Sanatana Dharma. These three are the essential scriptures that one should know, keeping in mind the ultimate goal of mankind- liberation or salvation. Dharma, artha, kama, and moksha are the four constituents of goal of life, purushartha’and every Hindu tries to achieve these in his lifetime; however, the last one is so eluding that it is not within the reach of us, the mortals.
Dharma or Righteousness is selfless action in the interest of common good. Artha is the material progress, and kamana is the ‘desire’ that is never fulfilled in one or two lives. Much of our life is wasted in fulfilling the basic needs of life. The two major aspects- artha and kamana (desire) ie, material pursuits and sensuous life, make us slave of our senses and body comforts; we tend to forget dharma, the very essential basis of life, the foundation of our existence. This is not clearly understood with the result there is so much of misery everywhere.
These ancient scriptures are put in the mouth of the enlightened sage-seers, rather, the breath of Sri Krishna dvaipayana, who later came to be known as the Sage Veda Vyasa; the most intriguing part of the story is that sage Veda Vyasa dictated this to none other than Lord Ganapati, the Lord of the Knowledge. These scriptures are mysterious age-less ones and nobody knows how these have come down to us. The practice during the earlier times was to learn the Veda by-heart and spell with phonetic perfection without writing down the scripture. That apart, there are many coded words and secret messages in the mantra.
The central theme of all the Shrutis and Smrutis is deliverance, liberation (mukti, moksha) of the embodied soul. These are the eternal sciences (jnyan-vijnyan) and a spiritual guide for us.
The Veda and Upa., Doctrines reveal the secrets of the origin, sustenance, and dissolution of the Universe. These are the primary sources of secrets- of life on earth, development and transformation and the true nature of our existence. They hold a clue to the future of mankind. The humans have experienced life in many ways and often get perplexed at the mysterious ways of turn of events. Almost all are eager to know everything about these mysteries, but there is no body to tell anything for sure about these. Thus, many take recourse to hear-say, the heard and the un-heard, the cock and bull stories, fiction and mythologic stories and finally get disgusted. As long as one is sailing in the Ship of this Planet Earth, there is none else who can save from the calamities that loom large and only someone, a superior power from some other planet, or someone who created this earth, only should help the poor creatures here. Till then, one has to struggle hard, fight a losing battle, and die, only to return again here in some form or the other to continue the unending journey. This is the sad predicament of the jivas on this earth, called the mrutyu loka.
Some of the most important abstract aspects of spiritual nature that are essential for our understanding of the mysteries of the Universe, and the ways of God, devi devatas, and great rishis or learned sages are explained here. For instance, the Vedic Gods and the rituals are not actually what the text reads, but contain any number of symbols, signs and images, coded words and syllables (full of meaning!). Horse is not an animal but a symbolic expression of speed and the cow stands for Light here!
The Veda, that was initially just one magnum opus of “Supreme Knowledge”, credited to  different sages, having almost a lakh verses, was later separated into four divisions- the Rk Veda, the Yajurveda, the Samaveda, and the Atharva Veda. These verses called Rks of the Rk Veda contain everything about the creation of the universe, evolution of Consciousness, involution of consciousness, sustenance and dissolution of living beings, the goal of life, etc.
Moreover, it is open to any number of interpretations! The Samans of the Samaveda are for singing the greatness of the Vedic Gods, praising them for favours, too. The Yajurveda contains elaborate rituals for yajnya and yagas. The Atharva Veda is full of details about socio-economic aspects of society and guidance for a happy and successful living. Nowhere do we find such scriptures and many foreign schoalrs like Max Mueller, Monier Williams, Fawley Dawson and Deussen are all praise for these.
At present, the available Vedic verses number about 20 000. The Rk Veda contains 10,552 Verses or aphorisms. These Rks (Rucha or Mantra) are the self-emanating udgitha; they are an exclamation in adoration of the revealed knowledge and Prayer Mantras. When properly contemplated upon, these appear to have a sort of hidden ‘secret’ in every letter, word, and the Mantra, ie, Rucha (Rk). There is an order and rhythm, ‘a refer-back system of sounds in dynamic silence (GAPs) alternately’, Mandala aspect in it; and, no one knows the nature of its origin or since when these are in existence! Every letter, every word, and every Rucha is so mysterious that it is very difficult to understand it. It is so esoteric and mystic and potential that even today its secrecy is well maintained and imparted only to a few trusted initiated ones by the enlightened sage-seers.
The esoteric and mystic nature of the Rks lies in the creative energy, force and power inherent in the sound of the letters. In fact, the letters of the alphabets have emanated from the breath of the Creator Brahma through his Creative energy or Shakti called Saraswati. Each letter is the mother (Matrikaa) of the next letter and the subsequent letter that goes to make a word/ ‘pada’ and the sentence ‘Vaak’ (ya). The Vakya is the sentence that makes complete sense, but it is shrouded with secrecy here. The secrecy lies in its power of creation, power of transformation, and the power of dissolution, and that explains everything in a coded language. So far, the Veda has not been successfully decoded!
