The process of embodiment of the soul (Atma dehadharane) is a mysterious process. Once the elemental/spiritual invisible energy particle enters the earth's atmosphere it gets easily mixed up with the elements of the earth (bhuti). For example, the Hydrogen particle gets compounded into Oxygen in any number of ways like the H2O permutations and combinations; so also carbon, calcium, iron with oxygen and hydrogen. The minerals in the soil gets mixed up to produce organic and inorganic substances. Wherever, the divine will as chaitanya and prana enters the soil and water, the jivas start palpating in innumerable forms. Thus the jivatman gets embodied by the will of paramatman. There is no difference betwee an ant, an elephant, a whale or a tiger and blade of grass in this! The forms are many and varied but the battery, spirit, soul, chaitanya in all is the same. Once the battery is weak, the body withers; once the prana leaves the body, the plant or animal falls inert and disintegrate and merge into its source material, the soil. Thus it is said from soil back to soil all are disintegrating at the end!
The human being created in the mother's womb undergoes several stages from the first spermatozoa to a fullfledged form of the mother or father's like. It builds up cells, tissues, organs like the spinal cord, brain, heart, lungs, spleen, kidney, pancreas, intestines, sound box etc etc. on its own. The tremendous creative power, knowledge, intelligence to design and place them well connected with each other cell by cell is simply an impossible task for a human. The drainage system, the food processing and extraction of blood, semen, bone marrow from the food eaten, a small morsel of rice or a crumb of bread is no magic! Knowledge, (jnyan) is of extraordinary type here. it is almost from nothing that these are created as if by a magic wand of God, not man! Human intelligence is nothing here, even if one can create a prototype from something already available. When a scientist created a robot and a cloned animal (sheep in 5th July 1996 in Edinburg, Scotland) God challenged the scientist to create anything without touching what He had already created!
Now, the embodied soul, the spirit that materialised into a living form, goes on accumulating any number of subtler aspects that can never be created by man; for instance, the mind, buddhi, indriya, tanmatra and the chitta and the Gunas can never be understood by us, let alone create them!
The humans have developed the physical body with help of food and water. Water constitutes 70% of the body and there is passage for movement of water, air, energy, and other sense perceptions, reactions through nerves and neurons. The process of evolution of the human structure and form may be: egg, DNA and RNA and embryo followed by the subtler aspects like the panchamahabhutas forming the physical body. Much of the intermediate steps are avoided for want of space. Readers may take to works by Sushruta, Chakrapani and Charaka and other great Sages and Doctors. Whatever, the Modern gynecology texts say or genetic engineers and DNA experts say, it is impossible know how the human being is programmed to live a certain period and finally kick off!
People enjoy life at different levels of existence and not knowing the scope that exists! A person can attain to the Buddha, or the Krishna Consciousness! But he/she is fooled the sensuous mundane life is all that one can enjoy here and thereby the jiva suffers.
In order to revert to its pure state of the atomic /ions energy particle of the source material, stellar dust from a distant star, the jiva has to discard first the annamaya kosha at mula adhara level. This means one has to give up food and drinks and still live a hundred years, at least! Second, transcend the prana maya kosha and be able to sustain prana without being bothered about it. Third, the jiva should transcend the principle of mind, the manomaya kosha. It is here that some people attain great name and fame a Nobel prize or a Bharat Ratna, but still lie unconscious, or paralysed and die whereas, a yogin will conquer death, too and reach the tapo loka? the fourth level one has to cross is the vijnyana maya kosha and finally transcend the anandamaya kosha also. This anandamaya kosha also keeps a jiva in a fool's paradise. No amount of knowledge, scriptural or material science is of any help in transcending the earthly existence and reach the highest state while still living here!
After all the five koshas are transcended, the jiva has to give up its svabhava acquired from birth, its tamo guna, rajo guna and the sattva guna, too. Then comes the most difficult exercise of discarding the artificial barrier of day and night, tearing the curtain of avidya, ajnyan, and burn all the karma kleshas, vasanas and arishadvarga. The should should be pure, as pure as a crystal, Then, the jiva reaches the highest level of Rishis and still clamour to become totally silent, reach the state of equilibrium, sthitaprajnya state.
There are a few such attained sthitaprajnyas amongst us but we cannot easily recognize them! They look simple, be with us as we are, look natural and never display any sign of their mystic nature or attained sainthood. However, their glow, tejas, intelligence, and divine nature cannot be missed.
