The Soul (Atman) that constitutes the core of our substance, the physical body (bhoutika sharira), started its journey as a particle of Light (jyoti-rashmi) from a distant star, entered the solar sphere (soura mandala) and entered the earth via the sunrays in the space (Akasha/nabhas), ether. This is what is stated in our horoscopes as janma nakshatra in the zodiac (rashi kundali). Thus, no wonder, the essence of jiva is its prana. There are innumerable stars, far and near, giants and dwarfs and of medium size and emit rays of different colurs based on their composition. The stars are made up of different elements- material or non-material, metallic or non-metallic (like carbon, iron, silicon and aluminum), gaseous, such as hydrogen, oxygen, ozone, etc. Thus we are all made of different components- elements and compounds. Our DNA and RNA comprise of amino acids, vitamins, enzymes, covered by a protein cell, and almost 77000 types of proteins are there, giving us individual characteristics!
Starting from a distant star, the radiant energy particle (pranic), entering the space and reaching earth is very very remote, This is called divine will, Sri Hari iccha, The chance of reaching the miniature planet earth is thus not in our hands albeit, it is we only that are traveling all through. Once we left our Father's home, reaching our Mother's is a great adventure! Thus, we, all have arrived here as guests of Divine Mother who gives us a home, feeds us, educates us and guides us through life. If look for Her guidance, She, the Divine Mother- Shree, Bhu, nila, as She is called will also take us back to our Father's Home in Heavens. Descending is easier than the ascent of the jiva since the jiva has acquired lot of trash, karma kleshas and trigunas and arishadvargas. It (the Soul) becomes so heavy that it cannot rise from the earth and cross its outer atmosphere (Exosphere). Thus, once the jiva got embodied, it is doomed. It will not be able to return to its pristine purity of say single ionic (atomic?) elemental nature lighter than Hydrogen. Thus it suffers taking different life-forms and the consequent repeated births and deaths This eternal journey of the jiva on the mrutyu loka, earth, is called the nara yana. The path of journey, adhvara, as said in Yajurveda will be explained later.
