Why Spirituality?

Spirituality is the inherent quality of the jiva.  The embodied jivatman is basically a particle of energy or spirit and not matter that is transient. As such, the jivatman appears to be struggling for an expression in different names and forms. This struggling is just vibration of energy and nothing else. As energy particle the atman is immortal, unborn and eternal. Now that the jiva is nothing but the Atman/energy particle/ a stellar particle at the core, the jiva is creating its own psychic and physical body to suit a purpose. The whole purpose of the jiva is discover itself in its true nature- Sat- chit- ananda. This is what is stated in all Veda, Upanishads and mythology texts. Shivapurana says, "Shiva only becomes Jiva and creates a jagat. This reverts back to Shiva with the help of yoga, meditation on the Self.
